Born on the sunny south side of Florida and raised in a lively household—mom, dad, three noisy sisters and a brother, plus a rotating cast of roommates—Miami became the playground for my imagination. My father, a jeweler by trade and a painter at heart, ignited my first love for art. He opened my world with art books spanning impressionism to contemporary movements, and together we dove into pages that changed the way I see color, form, and story.

Salvador Dalí captured my imagination early on—his surreal storytelling and playful tricks on the viewer still fascinate me. As I grew, I fell for the warm narrative power of American illustration: Norman Rockwell’s charm, J.C. Leyendecker’s elegance, N.C. Wyeth’s adventure, Dean Cornwell’s drama—each artist taught me how images can tell a story as clearly as words.

Today I channel that heritage into contemporary art and children’s book illustration, with a special focus on history. History has always hooked me—from my father’s tales to the books that filled my childhood—and it’s the heartbeat of my work.
